King Mohammed VI to Chair First Moroccan Council of Ministers Since Pandemic Began

A council of ministers, which should give pride of place to the general guidelines of the draft supplementary finance law, should be chaired this Monday, June 29, by King Mohammed VI.
According to sources cited by Telquel, this is the first council of ministers presided over by the sovereign since the vote on the state of health emergency in March last year following the coronavirus pandemic.
Councils of ministers are quite rare in Morocco, the last one dating back to the end of last year, during which two bills had been voted on as well as two international conventions, the same source specifies.
It should be noted that the council was planned a few weeks ago already, but King Mohammed VI underwent "successful" surgery following "a recurrence of atrial flutter-type cardiac arrhythmia on a healthy heart".
It is also possible, according to certain sources, that the sovereign will express his displeasure following the case of the two PJD ministers who were singled out for not having declared their employees to the CNSS (social security).
