King Mohammed VI’s Anger Prompts Urgent Demolition of Rabat Tramway Bridge

King Mohammed VI’s anger is said to have motivated the decision of the Agency for the Development of the Bouregreg Valley to urgently and nightly destroy part of the new tramway bridge in Rabat.
According to Al Massae, the source of this information, the construction model of the bridge pillars would have been the source of royal anger. The Agency for the Development of the Bouregreg Valley would not have been told twice.
Indeed, the latter would have subsequently brought in bulldozers and heavy equipment at night to destroy the part of the bridge concerned. These works concern the extension of line number 2 of the capital’s tramway.
This is the second royal anger that has fallen on this agency. The first had resulted in the suspension of the "Green tech valley" works, almost exactly a year ago.
Telquel wrote on May 1, 2018: "The Green Tech Valley project in Rabat is on hold, pending relocation to another site. "Two weeks ago, the king passed by the construction site, where he found that the building was hiding the Marina". The king would have at that time asked that the work be carried out on another site.
