King Hassan II of Morocco: "Muslim Leaders Cannot Be Secular"

A visionary, King Hassan II had spoken about secularism. In a video posted on YouTube, the former monarch of Morocco gave his opinion on the matter.
For the former Moroccan Sovereign, one cannot be Muslim and secular at the same time, an answer that reveals the vision of a Muslim man whose wisdom and nobility are no longer to be demonstrated.
"I am not a secular Head of State because from the moment one is Muslim, one cannot be secular. In reality, all the Heads of State of the Muslim world are not secular Heads of State. And, when they say they are secular, I say they are no longer Muslims. Because Muslim law sticks to us, whether we like it or not, both in private law and in public law. Unfortunately, this is what lost Iran and made my friend, the late Shah, not understand that he can say that it is he who blew the lid off the boiling Iranian pot because for him, there was the Clergy. He called the Imams, the Clergy. Whereas in our Islam, there is no religious order," the former Moroccan Sovereign, Hassan II, expressed at the time.
