Kickboxer Jamal Ben Saddik’s Home Targeted in Fireworks Attack in Antwerp

The house of Belgian-Moroccan kickboxer Jamal Ben Saddik in Antwerp, Belgium, was attacked by unknown individuals in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday with fireworks.
Jamal Ben Saddik lives with his small family in the Zegepraalstraat in Borgerhout. According to the Belgian justice system, unknown individuals exploded fireworks in front of the house. This attack caused major damage to the facade. Several neighboring houses were also damaged.

The kickboxer was not present at the time of the attack. Jamal Ben Saddik was in the Netherlands, where he is training for his next fight. His father, his wife and his child were present. His father and four neighbors were admitted to the hospital with hearing injuries. They have since left the hospital.
The perpetrators and the reason for this attack remain unknown for the moment. The authorities suspect that it may be linked to the Sky ECC cryptophone case, in which Jamal Ben Saddik had been questioned by the justice system. The Moroccan champion is accused of selling Sky ECC cryptophones, widely used in the drug trade. He had been arrested and incarcerated for a month last year.
