Kenitra Residents Protest New COVID-19 Lockdown Measures as Cases Surge

The new restrictions imposed by the authorities in the fight against coronavirus have pushed the inhabitants of Kenitra to the limit. This is the reason for a demonstration in the streets of the city last Sunday.
To better contain the spread of Covid 19, whose infection rate continues to rise, new restrictions have been put in place. Thus, last week, the number of infections increased with a peak of 246 new confirmed cases during the day of September 11, 2020 in Kenitra, the authorities say.
For this reason, for one week, all businesses, restaurants and cafes in the city of Kenitra and Mehdia will have to close at 6 p.m., except pharmacies, schools and mosques. Similarly, travel within the city is prohibited after the imposition of the curfew. This situation, which the inhabitants describe as abusive, distressing and unfair, has led them to demonstrate their anger in the streets of the city to make themselves heard.
In a video posted on social media, a woman claims and describes this situation as unfair. For her, the virus does not reside in the businesses but more or less in the absence of health measures in the factories. A statement supported by local merchants who fear not surviving the economic impact that will result from these restrictions.
