Kenitra Development Plan Faces Significant Delays and Stalled Projects

Nearly a decade after the launch of the strategic plan for the integrated and sustainable development of the province of Kenitra (2015-2020) under the aegis of King Mohammed VI, the majority of projects are struggling to be delivered or are completely stalled.
Appointed on October 18 last, Abdelhamid El Mazid, governor of Kenitra, wants to see clearly in the execution of the strategic plan for the integrated and sustainable development of the province (2015-2020) launched in 2015. In this sense, he has asked the provincial services to provide him with figures, Barlamane believes. This plan, which was to be completed in 2020, is dragging on: there are delays in the execution of projects or the stoppage of certain projects. A colossal budget of 8.4 billion dirhams had been devoted to the plan.
Are these findings linked to poor management of public funds and inefficiency of the responsible authorities? "Magistrates from the Regional Audit Office have carried out an in-depth audit of the Provincial Council of Kenitra, chaired by Jawad Gharib, a member of the National Rally of Independents (RNI)," the same source said. The results of this audit will make it possible to know whether there have been major dysfunctions in the management of the project and its resources, systemic shortcomings or not.
