Joint Morocco-Spain Operation Foils ISIS-Linked Terror Plot, Arrests Made

Following information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) proceeded, last Wednesday, to the arrest of an individual suspected of belonging to the "Daesh" organization, active between Morocco and Spain.
In collaboration with the Spanish "Guardia Civil", the operation led to the simultaneous arrest of two suspects, one in Nador, Morocco, by the DGST special force, and the other in Lérida, Spain, by the Spanish services. The two suspects were in contact with members of "Daesh" in Syria, and were suspected of preparing terrorist operations in Europe.
The investigations also showed that the suspects were in contact with an illegal immigration network, in order to obtain false identity documents to carry out their terrorist plans. The suspect arrested in Nador was placed in pre-trial detention to further the investigation, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in charge of terrorism cases.
