Jamal Ben Saddik operated on again for cancer

Diagnosed with a new cancer in January, Jamal Ben Saddik was operated on this week. The kickboxer had postponed the operation due to a possible participation in the Glory Grand Prix which took place on Saturday.
The Belgian-Moroccan underwent this operation after being diagnosed with a new cancer in January, confirm sources close to the world champion who recall that Ben Saddik had been diagnosed and treated twice for thyroid cancer in 2012.
The kickboxer was keen to participate in the Glory Grand Prix which took place on Saturday, before undergoing the operation. Finally, he did not participate in this tournament which was won by his longtime rival, Rico Verhoeven. Ben Saddik hopes to recover very quickly, even though he is aware that with this disease, anything can be expected.
Ben Saddik would not have reached an agreement with Glory to participate in the Grand Prix, which prompted the organization to call on Benjamin Adegbuyi. But the entourage of the Belgian-Moroccan affirms that he was excluded from the tournament, since he did not participate in the qualifying fights due to his doping suspension which has already been lifted.
A member of the coaching staff of Nabil Khachab, who lost in the semi-finals of the Grand Prix against Rico Verhoeven, Ben Saddik went up on the ring and expressed his disapproval of the jury’s verdict. Glory has opened an investigation into the incident. The two fighters have been rivals for years. They have already faced each other three times, with two victories for the Dutchman.
