Italian Retiree Murdered in Home Invasion Near Agadir; Three Suspects Arrested
The judicial police of Agadir arrested on Friday three men aged 23 to 40 as alleged perpetrators of the violent assault that cost the life of Luciano Calzini, a retiree of Italian origin who had been living in Morocco for about twenty years.
After the arrest of these three main suspects, from Agadir, the judicial police of the city continue the investigations in order to arrest other people who would be involved in this assault which would be the work of a criminal gang, reports Torino Corriere.
According to the police, gang members would have violated the home of the Italian retiree, located in Aourir, on the Taghazout bay, a few kilometers north of Agadir, to burglarize it. That’s where they stabbed the 76-year-old man who managed to escape them with his car, before finally hitting an electric pole after a chase.
Luciano Calzini was found unconscious on Thursday by passers-by who called an ambulance to rush him to the Hassan II hospital in Agadir where he was admitted in critical condition. He had deep knife wounds in the back, abdomen and leg. The doctors failed to save him. The retiree passed away in the early hours of Friday morning.
Luciano Calzini had already been the victim of an assault in 2021. Suspected of having assaulted a minor, his house had been vandalized. An investigation had been opened and Calzini had been questioned. But it did not lead to anything.
