Istiqlal Party Criticizes Morocco’s Health Pass Mandate as "Hasty" Amid Public Backlash

Meeting last Saturday in Rabat to examine the latest developments related to the Moroccan Sahara issue, the Central Committee of the Istiqlal Party (PI) also took the opportunity to look into the wave of discontent that has swept Morocco since the health pass became mandatory.
Thus, the Central Committee and the Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party, Nizar Baraka, recognized the "hasty" nature of the government’s decision to impose the health pass. However, they called on Moroccans to get vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to achieve herd immunity.
As for the 2022 Finance Bill, Baraka estimated that "this project was not prepared by the current government but by the previous executive." For him, "this did not prevent making important amendments for the benefit of citizens."
