Istanbul Bombing: Morocco Sets Up Crisis Unit, Urges Nationals to Exercise Caution

Istanbul was the target of a deadly attack on Sunday, November 13, 2022, which killed at least six people and injured 81. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Moroccan Consulate General, has set up a crisis unit to monitor the situation of Moroccans on the spot.
"Following the explosion that occurred today on Istiklal Street in the Taksim district of Istanbul, Türkiye, @MarocDiplomate, in coordination with the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Istanbul, is closely monitoring the situation of Moroccans present on the spot," the ministry tweeted.
In case of need, the department of Nasser Bourita asks members of the Moroccan community to call the following number from Turkey +90535206773, or the following telephone numbers: +212 (0) 537 67 63 50 / +212 (0) 537 67 63 53 / +212 (0) 537 67 62 51. Also, it has called on Moroccan citizens in Istanbul to be extremely cautious and to comply with the instructions issued by the Turkish authorities.
On Sunday, a deadly explosion occurred on the commercial and very touristy Istiklal Street in Istanbul. A female suicide bomber is said to be behind this attack. The provisional toll is at least six dead and 81 injured.
