Israeli Tourist Dies in Casablanca Bus Accident, Jewish Leader Confirms

Following the death of an Israeli in a bus accident on Friday, November 29 in Casablanca, Serge Berdugo, president of the Jewish Community Council, wanted to refute certain rumors.
It is indeed "a serious, regrettable accident that has saddened a Jewish pilgrimage," Serge Berdugo, president of the Jewish Community Council of Casablanca, told Le360.
"From all the testimonies, the accident thesis is the only plausible one. There is no doubt about the accident thesis," he said, adding that it is impossible that there is anything else.
Also, he hinted that Chief Rabbi Pinto Yoshiyao confirmed the accident thesis on Saturday, November 29 during the Shabbat prayer in Casablanca.
The president of the Jewish Community Council of Casablanca also said that the Casablanca morgue handed over the remains of the Jewish pilgrim to the Moroccan Jewish community. It will be repatriated to Israel.
Last Friday, the prefecture of Aïn Sebaâ stated that an Israeli of Moroccan origin was injured on Pasteur Avenue by a bus transporting a group of Jewish pilgrims.
For now, an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of this tragedy.
