Israeli Diplomat Criticizes Moroccan PM for Congratulating Hamas After Gaza Ceasefire

The head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco, David Govrin, seems to be remorseful after, in a tweet, tackling the head of the Moroccan government Saâdeddine El Othmani. The latter had congratulated Hamas the day the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip came into force.
The Israeli diplomat tweeted to recalibrate Saâdeddine El Othmani, the head of government and also secretary general of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD). "I was surprised by the statement of the Moroccan Prime Minister, Mr. El Othmani, who supported and congratulated the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad," he wrote. "Whoever supports Iran’s allies strengthens its regional influence. Is the strengthening of Iran, which sows destruction in Arab countries and supports the Polisario Front, not in contradiction with the interests of Morocco and the moderate Arab countries?" he added.
A reaction that came following the correspondence that the PJD boss addressed to Ismaïl Haneyeh, chairman of the Hamas political bureau, to congratulate him "on the occasion of the victory of the Palestinian people and their strong resistance" against "the Zionist entity".
The tweet of the Israeli diplomat provoked the reaction of the head of the PJD’s international relations commission, Reda Benjelloun. "Mr. Govrin’s tweet was addressed to El Othmani as Prime Minister, which amounts to interference in the internal affairs of the kingdom," he commented.
On Tuesday, the head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco deleted the incriminating tweet.
