Israel to Share Water Management Expertise with Morocco Amid Scarcity Concerns

Morocco could benefit from Israeli expertise in water management to better ensure the availability of the blue gold in all its regions.
The figures are alarming in Morocco regarding the availability of this precious resource. According to a report by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), the kingdom currently has about 650 m³/inhabitant/year, compared to 2,500 m³ in 1960. These resources should be around 500 m³ by 2030.
The formalization of relations between Morocco and the Hebrew state should allow the country to access all Israeli innovation patents, in various fields, namely telecommunications, aerospace or civilian technologies, connected objects, cybersecurity, medical innovations and many others, said the Minister of Industry Moulay Hafid El Alamy.
During the meeting with the American-Israeli delegation, a memorandum of understanding on innovation and water resource development was signed on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 between the two countries. It provides for technical cooperation in water management and development.
