Israel Secures Extradition of Two Fugitives from Morocco in Major Crime Case

In the absence of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Morocco will proceed to extradite two Israeli criminals via Spain. The two accused are being prosecuted as part of the "Case 512".
In a statement to the Jerusalem Post, a senior Israeli police official said: "These are two dangerous criminals who had fled Israeli justice. But our international partners allow us to find any Israeli criminal no matter where he is." A Moroccan officer traveled to Israel last week to decide on the extradition procedure.
Incarcerated for a year and a half in Morocco, Goltan Avitan is a member of "Yitzhak Abergil, the largest criminal organization in Israel. The individual, who is involved in the "Case 512", is suspected of having provided, in 2003, the wireless detonators used in the attack on a money transfer agency. The attack had left 3 dead and more than 20 injured, the same source points out.
After a getaway to Cyprus and then Spain, the man had finally anchored his yacht in Morocco. He had later been joined by his wife. For a few thousand euros, the couple had obtained Moroccan nationality from an Israeli criminal network. But, according to the Israeli official, Goltan Avitan will be stripped of his nationality and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The second criminal, Tchiko, is being prosecuted for his alleged involvement in a document forgery network and in the "Case 512".
