Israel and Morocco Agree to Normalize Relations, Netanyahu Hails "Historic Peace"

A few hours after the tweet from the US president recognizing the Moroccanness of the Sahara, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu "thanked King Mohammed VI for this historic decision to make peace with Israel." He also announced the resumption of "direct flights" between the two countries.
"I have always believed in this peace that is being realized today before our eyes. I want to thank President Trump for leading these agreements and thank King of Morocco Mohammed VI for this historic decision to make peace with Israel," said the Israeli Prime Minister in a televised speech. At the end of this official address, he lit a candle for the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
Continuing his speech, Benjamin Netanyahu recalled that arrangements will be made for the establishment of liaison offices, then direct diplomatic relations and direct flights between the two countries. The normalization of this agreement was officially announced on Thursday in Washington by US President Donald Trump. He also signed a decree recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara region.
For the record, Morocco is the 4th country to normalize its relations with Israel after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
