ISIS Threat Resurfaces: Intelligence Warns of Potential Attacks in Europe, Asia, and Africa

The terrorist organization Daesh is preparing attacks in the very near future. At least, this is what a study by the European Center for Terrorism Studies has revealed.
According to the European Center for Terrorism Studies, Daesh leaders have issued instructions broadcast via satellite to armed extremist militias that can be mobilized on the ground; these were intercepted by the intelligence services of Western countries, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
The study report indicates that the regions most threatened by a possible attack are: Europe, Southeast Asia and North Africa. The European study center also explains that the health crisis related to covid-19 is likely to compromise international cooperation efforts against Daesh.
Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, also looked into the issue. He mentioned a "rise in the terrorist threat" in the coming months. "The lack of preparedness to fight covid-19 gives an idea of what a terrorist-perpetrated epidemic attack could represent, and the harmful consequences that this type of attack can generate," he warned.
The International Crisis Group (ICG) expresses the same concerns. The NGO warns of the threats hanging over coordination efforts between countries in the ongoing war against terrorism. According to the NGO, the coronavirus pandemic affecting almost all countries opens a breach for terrorist organizations such as Daesh and Al Qaeda.
