ISIS-Linked Terror Cell Dismantled in Morocco; Weapons Cache Discovered

During a press conference held on Monday, Habboub Cherkaoui, the director of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), returned to the dismantling, last week, of a terrorist cell affiliated with Daesh, providing details on the cache of weapons and ammunition found in an isolated location in the province of Errachidia.
This cargo consists of two Kalashnikov assault rifles with two magazines, two hunting rifles, ten pistols and a large quantity of ammunition of various calibers, Cherkaoui said, stressing that these weapons are in good working order, according to the ballistic expertise carried out by the weapons experts of the Institute of Forensic Sciences and Evidence of the General Directorate of National Security. However, their serial numbers have been erased to conceal their origin.
The BCIJ director also revealed the name of the Daesh official operating from the Sahel and who was giving direct instructions to the cell dismantled last week. It is Abderrahmane Sahraoui, a Libyan national who has proven links with illegal trafficking networks. According to Cherkaoui, he is also the one who provided the weapons found buried at the foot of a rock to the members of the terrorist cell.
