Interpol-Wanted French Fugitive Arrested in Morocco for Cannabis Trafficking

The judicial police arrested, on Tuesday, October 10, in Rabat, a 49-year-old Frenchman, wanted by the justice system and subject to an Interpol "red notice".
According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the man was living illegally on Moroccan soil, trying to escape a conviction in France related to the cultivation and illicit trafficking of cannabis resin.
The defendant was no novice in this field. He is notably accused of having cultivated cannabis in several French cities, including Strasbourg, deriving a profit of around 150,000 euros from his activities.
The arrest, carried out with the collaboration of the Interpol National Central Bureau attached to the DGSN, was reported to the French authorities. The individual is currently in custody, pending an appearance and subsequent extradition proceedings to France.
