Interpol Targets Moroccan Human Trafficking and Extremist Network

Several Moroccans involved in human trafficking and support for extremist groups are in the sights of the Interpol office in Rabat. Members of this criminal gang have been arrested by a specialized brigade composed of 15 research, investigation and field intervention groups.
Two of the defendants are wanted nationwide for migrant trafficking, fraud, forgery and use of forgeries, while a third would be an extremist, reports Al Massae. The searches carried out at the suspects’ homes led to the seizure of five manufacturing and preparation depots of logistical means intended to organize illegal immigration and human trafficking operations. The investigators also seized several zodiacs, 23 marine engines, 8 cars, seven 30-liter gasoline cans, as well as six compasses and an air pump.
In addition, lots of equipment used in the organization of illegal immigration, including 1,000 life jackets, engine oils, sewing machines and fabric used in the manufacture of inflatable boats, were also discovered on site.
