Interpol Fugitive from Portugal Arrested in Morocco After 6-Year Hunt

Subject to an arrest warrant issued by the authorities of his country, a Portuguese man was arrested yesterday evening by the Moroccan authorities.
Few details have been released so far, but according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect has been the subject of an arrest warrant through Interpol since 2017 issued by the judicial authorities of his country.
The 47-year-old man has been illegally residing, most likely since that date, in Tangier, the DGSN specifies, according to which the search carried out by the judicial police in his apartment made it possible to seize 200 grams of cannabis resin (chira), cocaine doses, as well as several phones and a car.
Still according to the DGSN, the authorities of his country have been notified and legal proceedings are already underway for his extradition to Portugal.
Last month, a French woman under an international arrest warrant was arrested by the police. She is suspected of murdering her French partner in China in 2004.
