International Human Trafficking Ring Busted at Casablanca Airport

Seven foreign nationals were arrested on Tuesday at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. They are four Bulgarians and three Iranians aged between 28 and 68, involved in the activities of an international network of human trafficking and illegal immigration.
It was a stroke of luck for the elements of the police of the Mohammed V airport district in Casablanca who, during border control operations, first managed to arrest three Iranian nationals in the act of attempting illegal immigration to a Spanish airport. The investigations carried out following these arrests led to the arrest of four Bulgarians, who would be part of the same network, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The investigation was entrusted to the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ), which will try to identify all the international ramifications of this criminal network as well as its links with the European and Asian networks of illegal immigration and human trafficking. For the moment, several falsified travel documents, boarding passes and mobile phones with international SIM cards have been seized and will allow the police to have enough elements to guide the investigation.
As for the seven accused, they have all been taken into custody for the needs of the investigation conducted by the national office for the fight against illegal immigration, under the BNPJ.
