Inflation Squeezes Moroccan Families’ Summer Vacation Plans

The galloping inflation has severely affected the purchasing power of Moroccans who are forced to go into debt to meet their vital needs and afford summer vacations.
Contrary to previous years, it is likely that consumption will decrease, especially since the summer vacations come directly after Eid al-Adha on the one hand, and the start of the school year on the other, explains to the Al3omk site the economic expert and analyst Khalid Ben Ali, who also notes an exaggerated increase in the prices of hotel services, stressing that failing to cancel their trips, Moroccans will probably reduce the duration of their stays.
Still in the dynamic of cost reduction, Moroccan families will increasingly opt for the shared rental of apartments in order to share the costs, develops the expert who affirms that tourists, both foreign and national, will be in a logic of reducing expenses. Ben Ali also noted an inequality of treatment between foreign and national tourists on the part of hotels, which are attentive to foreigners, neglecting nationals. He did not fail to invite tourism professionals to lower their prices to attract more tourists this summer.
In the same vein, Omar Kettani, another economic expert and analyst, confirmed that the surge in prices of airline tickets and other tourist services such as restaurants, hotels and cafes, has weighed on the vacations of Moroccans. According to him, several Moroccan families will have to reduce their expenses this summer in order not to find themselves in a difficult financial situation after the holidays.
