Indian Defense Manufacturer Metlonics Expands to Morocco, Eyes African Market

After America, the Indian manufacturing company specializing in the bogie, Metlonics, has chosen Morocco to establish itself in Africa.
Metlonics Morocco Sarlau. This is the name of the subsidiary that the Indian manufacturer Metlonics has opened in Morocco, more precisely in Casablanca. Published in the Moroccan Official Bulletin No. 5861, this single-member limited liability company is specialized in the assembly, production and development of industrial systems and equipment, including armored vehicles and defense systems and their accessories.
By opening a subsidiary in Morocco, the Indian group Metlonics joins the WhAP production ecosystem. Metlonics Morocco Sarlau will thus support the partnership between Morocco and India, formalized by an investment agreement for the local production of the WhAP 8x8 in collaboration with the Indian giant Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL). For its part, Morocco is pursuing through this cooperation its efforts to localize the military equipment industry and develop the capabilities of the armed forces, thus contributing to the strengthening of the local production of advanced armored vehicles.
Developed in collaboration with India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the WhAP 8x8 is the country’s first amphibious infantry combat vehicle. It is designed to enhance survivability, all-terrain performance and firepower. This military vehicle is equipped with an integrated powertrain with automatic transmission, buoyancy and propulsion capability, making it particularly suitable for amphibious missions and difficult terrain.
Metlonics Morocco Sarlau will also have a department dedicated to adapting the design of the armored vehicle according to the requirements of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), it is reported.
