Imprisoned Hirak Leader Nasser Zefzafi Granted Leave to Visit Ailing Father in Tangier

The leader of the Hirak, Nasser Zefzafi went on Wednesday, June 30, to the bedside of his father hospitalized in a private clinic in Tangier after being authorized by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR).
In a press release quoted by Le Desk, the support committee for the Rif Hirak detainee states that Nasser Zefzafi was exceptionally authorized on Wednesday, June 30 to leave prison to visit his father Ahmed Zefzafi admitted to a private clinic in Tangier. The day before, the leader of the Hirak had requested an exceptional exit permit, which was accepted by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR). "The visit lasted about an hour, during which Nasser Zefzafi reassured himself about the stability of his father’s condition," the same source specifies.
In 2018, the Court of Appeal of Casablanca had sentenced Nasser Zefzafi and Nabil Ahamjik to 20 years in prison. These sentences were definitively confirmed by the Court of Cassation on June 23.
