Imlil Terror Attack: Defendants Show No Remorse in Scandinavian Tourists' Murder Trial

During the 3rd appeal hearing on Wednesday, September 18, at the Criminal Court of Appeal in Salé, the 24 defendants in the case of the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists in the Imlil region, the three main defendants say they have no regrets about their murderous act.

No regret for Abdessamad El Joud, the "mastermind" of the terrorist cell he himself created. His lack of remorse surprised the entire audience who had come to the courthouse to follow this trial, including the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark.

Instead of remorse, he, who was sentenced to death at first instance, coldly replied: "The Crusaders should apologize for the murder of millions of Muslims around the world. Here, there were only two deaths, and only Allah can judge our actions," reports Hespress.

The defendant tried to exculpate the other 21 defendants who, according to him, have nothing to do with the crime committed in Imlil, except for his two other accomplices and himself. According to the same source, the second defendant, Younes Ouziad, who was also sentenced to death at first instance, believes that "remorse is to be entrusted to the Almighty God".

However, in the face of the demands of the two lawyers for the Scandinavian families, the two main defendants had to re-explain how the terrorist cell was formed, without questioning the statements made before the investigating judge and during the trial at first instance.

As for the third main defendant, Rachid Affati, he did not deviate from this rule by confirming the statements of El Joud and Ouziad. He also specified that the clandestine group "was considering going to fight in Syria, before all the exit doors were closed". However, he stated that the cell "knew how to distinguish between infidels, Crusaders and true and false Muslims".
