Iconic Ifrane Lion Statue Dons Mask, Urging Public to Follow COVID-19 Precautions

The official mascot of the city of Ifrane is participating in the fight against coronavirus. The famous Lion, sculpted in granite, wears a blue mask edged in white, to invite the inhabitants to follow in his footsteps in order to drive the virus out of the city.
Far from being a joke, this decision to mask it is a way to show that the epidemiological situation is to be taken seriously. The virus is circulating and spares no one.
Through this gesture, the local authorities want to raise awareness among passers-by to respect the preventive measures in force. "The Lion of Ifrane invites you to wear a mask," can be read on an official sign, placed right in front of the sculpture.
