Hunter Killed in Morocco: Love Triangle Emerges in Investigation

The investigation into the death of a hunter "accidentally" killed by his hunting companion in a forest in the commune of Ghbala is causing a scandal. It was discovered that a woman was the victim’s mistress before recently having a romantic relationship with the suspect.
The events took place in the Tamkiste forest in the commune of Ghbala, in the province of Béni Mellal. A hunter is said to have "accidentally" killed his hunting companion and informed a third hunter of the tragedy. The latter then informed the Ghbala gendarmerie services. The gendarmes arrived immediately on the scene and found the victim’s body bathed in blood, with lead fragments in the back and neck, reports Assabah.
During his interrogation, the author of the fatal shot told the gendarmes that he had targeted two birds near a mound without managing to hit them. He recounts having noticed an abnormal movement near a tree shortly after, before discovering his hunting companion lying on the ground and bleeding profusely from the head. He claims to have tried to talk to him, before realizing that he was dead on the spot, and to have warned the third hunter.
The hunter also admitted to being the author of the "accidental" shot and not having noticed the presence of his hunting companion near the tree. He then asked for an amicable settlement of the case by offering compensation to the victim’s family. But the intervention of a woman tends to prove that it would be a homicide. It was discovered that this woman was the victim’s mistress before recently having a romantic relationship with the suspect. Moreover, this "mediator" worked in a café in Khénifra owned by the author of the shot.
Informed of this development in the case, the victim’s relatives filed a complaint for suspected murder with a hunting rifle with the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Béni Mellal. The latter ordered the investigation to be deepened and technical expertise to be carried out.
