Comedian Hamza Filali imprisoned for a case of bounced checks
Moroccan comedian Hamza Filali was placed in detention on Thursday as part of a financial legal procedure. The information was publicly communicated by the artist Souilah, who confirmed the reasons for this arrest.
The proceedings against Hamza Filali concern the issuance of bounced checks. This situation resulted from the failure of a business project in which the artist had invested. The economic difficulties resulting from this enterprise did not allow him to honor certain financial commitments, he specified.
Souilah indicated that his colleague had tried to regularize his situation before his arrest. He would have managed to pay off a significant part of his debts. However, the accumulation of the remaining claims prevented the closure of all the outstanding files, leading to the current measures.
Given these circumstances, Souilah invited the public and the artist’s relatives to show solidarity. He indicated that Hamza Filali was going through a complex period requiring moral support.
