Hollywood Legacy: 18-Year-Old Daughter of Moroccan Director and Irish Actor Blazes Her Own Path in Film

Moroccan director Zara Moufid had a daughter with 76-year-old Irish actor Jim Sheridan, who is now following in her parents’ footsteps.
Zara Moufid met Jim Sheridan, 25 years her senior, in a café many years ago. "I met a guy whose father was a sculptor and I started talking to him and Zara came and said hello and that was it," the Irish actor recounts. They became parents of a daughter, Clodagh, who is now 18 years old. "I had a daughter with Zara, years ago. So I had been very present in her life, but I had never been able to live with her. But, for the last year and a half, I’ve been living with Zara and Clodagh, and it’s as if a flower has opened, you know?" Jim told The Irish Independent.
The Irish actor is full of praise for his daughter. "It’s crazy. She’s very intelligent, very calm and adorable," he describes, adding that she is "as beautiful inside as she is outside" and "adorable" but also "tough, but without aggression." Like her parents, Clodagh is embracing a career in the film industry. She is currently working on a film with her father. Before her, three other daughters the Irish actor had with Fran, his wife of 50 years, who passed away in 2023, made the same choice.
