Al Hoceima Construction Disrupts Summer Tourism, Frustrates Moroccan Diaspora Visitors

The ongoing excavation and widening works in the city of Al Hoceima at the start of the summer season are disrupting traffic and causing outrage among residents and visitors, particularly Moroccans living abroad.
The construction work on a roundabout at the entrance of Al Hoceima, near the Calabonita beach, is causing inconvenience to the many tourists and Moroccans living abroad who are visiting the city this summer. The implementation of these works, which have expanded to other infrastructures in the city center at the beginning of the summer season, raises questions about their timeliness, reports the local website Nadorcity.
In addition to these works that are causing congestion in the city center, summer visitors are also facing another problem on the roads: the many no-parking and no-circulation signs installed throughout the city.
The taxi drivers of Al Hoceima are also complaining about these signs. During a recent meeting with the local authorities, they asked for the removal of the horizontal signage at several intersections.
