Historic Toulouse-Casablanca Air Route Marks 100 Years with Commemorative Flight

The moment was magical and deserves to be dwelt upon. The first regular Toulouse-Rabat-Casablanca flight of Aéropostale celebrates its 100th anniversary. On Sunday, September 1st, a crew made up mainly of Moroccans retraced this flight initiated by Pierre-Georges Latécoère in 1919.
This initiative of the Aero-Club of Rabat (ACRR), in cooperation with the National Association of Aviation in Morocco, reinforces the opinion on the role of Morocco in the development of intercontinental and commercial flights.
According to the MAP, this regular flight is the first in a list of events planned throughout 2019. In a statement, Hicham Meftah, Secretary General of the ACRR, specified: "Intercontinental and commercial flights would not have existed and Aéropostale would never have been able to take off without the conclusion of the air agreement in 1919 allowing overflights of Moroccan territory".
It should be noted that Moroccan crews will participate, on September 23 and 24, in the Toulouse-Dakar air rally, with 23 aircraft registered "CN" (Morocco) which will make stopovers in Dakhla and Tarfaya.
