Historic Ties: Morocco’s Hashish Trade and Jewish Influence Explored

Moroccans and Jews are two peoples intimately linked by history. They share several realities that enrich their paths, such as the hashish produced by Morocco and sold by Jews. In order to show the cultural proximity between the two peoples, Time of Israel, an Israeli media, has produced a report on the issue.
"The Jews came to North Africa before the birth of Islam," observes Sayid, an elderly Moroccan, to the Time of Israel reporter. He added that "Moroccan Jews are therefore inseparable from the history of Morocco". As an example, these Jews enjoy great admiration from Moroccans. The proof is that King Mohammed VI, like his father before him, has one among his advisers, in the person of André Azoulay.
