Hirak Protest Leaders Resume Hunger Strike in Moroccan Prison Over Denied Demands

Faced with the refusal of the management of the Ras El Ma prison in Fez to respond favorably to their demands, the 6 Hirak detainees, including leader Nasser Zefzafi, announce a new hunger strike.
For the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR), these are "illegitimate demands," according to a statement.
According to the DGAPR, several reasons explain the state of mind of the six Hirak detainees, in particular the refusal to receive visits from people outside their family members, to extend their telephone calls, to double their food rations at meals, to give them raw vegetables, to allow them to buy products within the prison... So many unmet demands that are causing outrage.
But the DGAPR believes that the detainees are demanding "preferential treatment" when they are already benefiting from medical care and the continuation of their studies.
