Heavy Rains Expose $500,000 Infrastructure Failure in Moroccan Town

The torrential rains that hit many municipalities of Khemisset last Friday laid bare the dilapidated and outdated state of the road infrastructure, as well as the poor management of the authorities.
The rehabilitation of the Maaziz center, a locality of 9,000 inhabitants, had required the sum of 5 million dirhams, reported the daily Assabah. However, the latest showers were enough to reveal the non-compliance of the work carried out.
The newspaper mentions poor management and embezzlement that require the opening of an investigation to determine the responsibilities of each one.
It seems that the projects financed by the municipal council of the city are tainted by poor management linked to non-compliance with specifications and the monopoly exercised by two service providers, namely a consulting firm and a company, concludes the daily.
