Heatwave Drives Tangier Residents to Beaches as Temperatures Soar

The beaches of the city of Tangier have been stormed early this year by many families due to a sharp rise in temperatures.
Tangier is suffocating. Temperatures reached 36.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, one of the highest figures ever recorded by the city at the end of May and early June, pushing many families to flock to the city’s beaches. "I went to the beach to escape the intense heat that reigns in the apartment where we live, in the Beni Makada neighborhood," Rachid, one of the residents of the city of Tangier, met at Malabata beach, tells Hespress. He says he brought his son with him and went to the beach to spend a good time with him.
Summer "came early this year, may God preserve us, and that’s all," Rachid asked. Like him, there are many residents who preferred to head to the sea to escape the excessive heat that has marked the city in recent days. According to images and videos published by internet users on their personal pages on social networks, there is a significant presence of people on the beaches.
Why this heatwave? According to experts and specialists in climate and the study of its changes, the kingdom and all of North Africa are at the heart of growing climate challenges.
