Health Ministry Urges Dental Practices to Close Amid COVID-19 Concerns

To avoid the risk of contamination of patients as well as dentists and care units, the Ministry of Health has recommended the closure of dental practices.
According to L’Économiste, the Ministry of Health, in line with international recommendations, is inviting practitioners to establish remote medical advice and electronic prescriptions instead of physical care.
However, the ministerial department authorizes only one dental practice to open per province in order to provide a presence for extreme emergency cases (irreversible acute pulpitis, trauma, hemorrhage, etc.).
In addition, the minister is inviting dentists, in the face of the high risks of contamination, to formally give up the care of patients with flu-like symptoms (cough, sneezing, etc.).
