Guinean Migrant Dies During Police Raid on Camp in Nador, Morocco

As the police intervened in the migrant camps in Nador on the evening of September 7, a Guinean migrant lost his life there.
He did not have time to reach Europe. This Guinean migrant lost his life during a police intervention in Nador.
In a statement, the Moroccan Association of Human Rights (AMDH) recounts the facts. "The attack took place around 8 p.m., in a mountainous area with a difficult geographical configuration. This is where the Guinean citizen fell."
According to Omar Naji, President of the AMDH Nador, contacted by the Huffpost Maroc, the deceased migrant was struck in the genital area and head before falling. He also condemned the arrest of the 40 migrants who witnessed the attack, and called for a "serious" investigation to be opened in order to "punish those responsible" for the Guinean’s death.
To ensure that such situations do not recur, Omar Naji also called for a halt to all night-time attacks on migrant camps.
For Helena Maleno, founder of the "Caminando Fronteras" Collective, which provides assistance to migrants, the right to life must be respected. In a post on her Facebook page, she expressed her condolences to the deceased’s family.
Like the AMDH, the "Caminando Fronteras" Collective insists that an investigation must be opened immediately to uncover the truth and ensure justice.
