Google Maps Expands Speed Camera Alerts to Morocco and 39 Other Countries

Google has just announced the upcoming launch in 40 countries, including Morocco, of speed camera and speed limit signaling on Google Maps. However, a quick visit to the app shows that fixed speed cameras are already available.
The news of the availability of speed camera and speed limit signaling on Google Maps should delight many. This information is confirmed by the American internet giant on the specialized site TechCrunch.
This feature has been in testing for a few months in the United States and Brazil, and will therefore be extended to Morocco as well as South Africa, Andorra, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Namibia, Oman, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Tunisia and Zimbabwe, the same source specifies.
Subject to an official announcement from Google, several media outlets according to Huffpost Maghreb point out that this feature will now be available on Android and iOS, adding that Android users will also have the ability to report mobile speed cameras. The media also points out that the launch date in Morocco remains unknown for the moment.
It is worth noting that it is very likely that Google will use data from Waze, another GPS navigation app, acquired a few years ago for $1.15 billion.
A test of a route between Rabat and Tangier on a smartphone shows that Google has already activated the speed cameras in Morocco.
