Google Honors Morocco’s 67th Independence Day with Special Doodle

To celebrate the 67th anniversary of Morocco’s independence this Saturday, November 18, Google has created a "doodle" in the colors of the national emblem.
On the occasion of the celebration of Moroccan Independence Day, the famous search engine has highlighted the Moroccan flag flying on its home page.
"Today’s Doodle celebrates Morocco’s Independence! On this day in 1956, Morocco regained its sovereignty after more than 40 years of colonial rule. The country’s path to freedom was made possible through peaceful negotiations and diplomacy led by King Mohammed V.
On Independence Day, Moroccans attend parades, flag-raising ceremonies, concerts and fireworks displays. They wear traditional clothing like djellabas (hooded robes decorated with pointed hoods) and kaftans (long-sleeved elegant robes) while waving the green and red national flag.
Moroccan cuisine also plays an important role in the festivities. National dishes like couscous, tagine (braised chicken stew) and pastilla are enjoyed by all. For dessert, people indulge in fried sesame and honey cookies called chebakia. Mint tea, which symbolizes hospitality and warmth, is also served throughout the country."
