Good news for Moroccan military personnel

In Morocco, war veterans and widows of martyrs receive significant support from the government. Active-duty military personnel also see their salaries increase.

War veterans and widows of martyrs can rub their hands with glee. During the presentation of the sectoral budget of his ministry, Abdellatif Loudiyi announced the allocation of significant credits to cover the various additional allowances for pensions, for the benefit of widows of martyrs, retirees, former military personnel and war veterans, reports Hespress. This support mainly concerns the "special allowance", the annual amount of which is set at 10,080 dirhams, he specified. According to the explanations of the delegate minister in charge of the Administration of National Defense, any war veteran meeting the required conditions receives an amount of 2,520 dirhams every three months, and this special allowance is transferable to the beneficiaries up to 50%.

That’s not all. Former military personnel and war veterans benefit from an additional allowance aimed at bringing the amount of the retirement pension to 1,700 or 2,000 dirhams, depending on the actual length of service and the reasons for retirement, Loudiyi said. He also mentions the life annuity for war wounded, designed to bring the disability pension for this category to an amount between 2,200 and 5,400 dirhams per month, depending on the degree of disability assigned and the category to which the beneficiary belongs. A life annuity that is transferable to widows up to 50%. What about the life annuity allowance for widows of martyrs? It allows raising retirement and disability pensions to a level between 3,000 and 3,650 dirhams, depending on the category to which the martyr belonged during his lifetime, the minister specified.

In addition to these financial aids, there is a set of social and socio-medical benefits provided by the Hassan II Foundation for the social works of former military personnel and war veterans. The minister also mentioned the improvement of the salaries of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). The members of the FAR have benefited from the general increase in remuneration recently decided by the State, set at 1,000 dirhams in two installments, Loudiyi recalled, adding that the last payment, in the amount of 500 dirhams, was made in July of this year, like for civil servants. This general increase was identical for officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, which had a particularly positive impact on lower-ranking military personnel, he stressed.
