A new golden landing spot for Rachida Dati?
Defeated in the municipal elections against Emmanuel Grégoire, Rachida Dati sees her future as uncertain. The former minister could bounce back at the helm of the prestigious domain of the Château de Versailles, thanks to an institutional reshuffle.
The race for the mayor’s office in the capital ended on March 22 for the candidate, who was more than 80,000 votes behind her opponent in the second round. Although she was re-elected in her 7th arrondissement, she now sits in the opposition.

After the announcement of the results, the former Keeper of the Seals spoke. "We ran a campaign full of conviction and determination. This momentum was not enough," she said, while calling for vigilance.
Despite this electoral failure, her entourage rules out any definitive withdrawal from public life. According to information relayed by the press, she could aim for a prominent position on the outskirts of the capital, by taking the helm of the Château de Versailles.

This opportunity stems from a game of musical chairs caused by a recent robbery scandal at the Louvre Museum. Her former director having been replaced by Christophe Leribault, former head of Versailles, the position is now vacant, although Rachida Dati’s entourage has not yet confirmed this track.
