Gold Seekers Vandalize Moroccan Mosque in Search of Hidden Treasure

Individuals broke into a mosque and vandalized it in search of a supposedly hidden treasure.
The "treasure hunters" are back in Morocco. Convinced that a treasure is hidden inside the "Al-Hanout" mosque in Beni Groufit, they dug the ground late at night and caused disorder in the mosque, both in terms of furniture and copies of the Holy Quran that were there, reports Alyaoum24.
When they woke up, the residents were surprised to see the damage to their place of worship. The perpetrators of this act of vandalism left before dawn. For now, no one knows if they were able to find the treasure they were looking for or if they left empty-handed.
According to the local authorities and the elements of the royal gendarmerie, who were dispatched to the scene, these were probably "treasure hunters".
A judicial investigation has been opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
On social networks, several images showing the extent of the damage have been widely shared. Unanimously, the outraged Internet users have called on the law enforcement authorities to proceed with the arrest of those involved, who must answer for their actions.
