Glory Kickboxing: Rico Verhoeven to Defend Heavyweight Title Against Jamal Ben Saddik
Glory confirms the possibility of a third duel between the two best kickboxers Badr Hari and Rico Verhoeven. But before this fight, the current world heavyweight champion will have to face the Belgo-Moroccan, Jamal Ben Saddik.
The sports organization, Glory, intends to give the Belgo-Moroccan Jamal Ben Saddik another chance to face world heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven. According to Glory CEO Marshall Zelaznik, it’s time to give Saddik the opportunity to try for the world title again. He promises that his team will work for his organization.
In December 2017, the Belgo-Moroccan had been eliminated in the fifth round by Verhoeven in a fight for the world kickboxing championship title. To date, Ben Saddik, 29, seems to have made progress. Hence a second chance.
This will be Glory’s first event of 2020, which will take place in February. "It’s going to be a great fight," Zelaznik hopes. "We want to do it in a big stadium. The Utrecht hall is not big enough," he said. For the Glory CEO, the atmosphere that prevailed during the last duel between Badr Hari and Rico Verhoeven at GelreDome must be there.
He also stated that these two best kickboxers will cross paths again. According to him, it is absolutely in Glory’s interest to organize another duel between these two athletes.
