German University Expands to Morocco, Offering Dual Enrollment Program

For the first time in Africa, the German university has chosen to set up in Morocco. The German University in Morocco (GUM) will offer a 100% German training.
The arrival of this university in Morocco is the result of a partnership between the international group Adam Riese and the Bavarian University of Applied Sciences in Landshut, Germany. This is a new model that allows students to be enrolled at the same time at the German University in Morocco and at the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut.
According to the explanations of Pörnbacher, President of the University of Applied Sciences in Landshut, "This project marks the launch of the export of the German university education system in the African region". According to the academic leader, the "German University in Morocco will offer a program in total osmosis with the one in Germany and thus allows Moroccan students to benefit from unparalleled training without having to travel.
According to Nazahreth, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Landshut, this project aims to meet the training needs of young people on site. "Nowadays, training must go to young people and not the other way around. This project brings us much closer to this noble objective," he explains. And he adds that "Young students in the Middle East and Africa region can now benefit on site from a university education ’made in Germany’ known for the quality of its teaching and its listening to the needs of the job market".
In addition to the "Adam Riese" excellence scholarship which is made available to the brightest students, the University allows those among them who wish to travel to Germany, at the end of the 5th semester.
