UN General Assembly: Morocco Strengthens Position on Western Sahara Dispute

At the 74th UN General Assembly held in New York, Morocco has shown firmness regarding the integrity of its territory. This position seems to shake Algeria and the Polisario.
On the sidelines of the work of the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UN), Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, defended the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
He also initiated several meetings, notably with Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General. The latter thanked Morocco "for its support for UN reform efforts and peacekeeping operations," reports the newspaper Assabah.
According to the same source, many countries have congratulated Morocco for its return to the African Union, as well as for its role in revitalizing and strengthening South-South cooperation in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, not to mention its role on the international scene in the fight against terrorism and the adverse effects of climate change.
If many countries have woven laurels to Morocco for this diplomatic offensive, this is not the case for Algeria.
"The Algerian Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, could not find better to do than to unearth the hatchet of shady methods, based on lies and deception," confided Mohamed Talib, member of CORCAS to Assabah.
In other words, the Algerian Foreign Minister would have disapproved of the delay noted in the appointment of a new UN special envoy to the Sahara. This delay would benefit Morocco.
Also, Algeria has said behind the scenes approximate truths. It would have made believe that it was striving to find a political solution to the Sahara conflict, which, according to it, only opposes Morocco and the Polisario.
