Fugitive Moroccan Suspect Surrenders in German Woman’s Fatal Shooting

Moroccan national Mohamed Soltana surrendered to the police last week after being on the run since May 6. He had shot a woman in her car in the German city of Aufenbach.
The victim, a 44-year-old woman, was parked on the side of a street in the city of Aufenbach, waiting for her 13-year-old son to come out of a sports club. The bullet fired by the killer had pierced the windshield before hitting her in the neck, causing her immediate death.
No information has leaked out about the motives for the murder. The 42-year-old Moroccan turned himself in to the police last Monday. An arrest warrant had been issued against him by the German judicial authorities.
Held in custody pending the start of his trial, the defendant, who is from the city of Nador, was the subject of an investigation by the German police services to determine the motive for his act.
