FRS Ships Receive "My Care" Health Certification for Safe Gibraltar Strait Travel

All FRS ships can now navigate safely in the Strait of Gibraltar. As part of the fight against Covid-19, the shipowner has obtained the "My Care" compliance declaration issued by the certification agency DNV GL, which ensures compliance with health and safety standards for passengers and crews.
The entire fleet has already obtained the "My care" certification. Whether it is the Ceuta Jet ship, which operates the Ceuta-Algeciras line for the transport of passengers and goods, or the cargo ships Kattegat, Tanger Express and Miramar Express, which operate the Tanger-Med/Algeciras route.
These measures, which guarantee maximum health protection, also apply in the offices and boarding and transit areas for passengers. For Ronny Moriana, CEO of FRS, "it is essential to strictly respect the health protocol. It is our responsibility towards our customers. We want to renew this trust with each of our trips."
According to him, FRS is the first shipowner sailing between Morocco and Spain to obtain the "My Care" certification, which "more than a label, is a real protocol and a very comprehensive approach". By adopting this protocol, FRS shows its commitment to "offer maximum health protection to passengers and crews," adds Mr. Moriana.
The "My Care" declaration is a dynamic protocol, adapted to all types of health and safety contingencies. It is based on standards and management systems applied in hospitals to protect users, and guarantees control and continuous improvement processes.
For Ms. Ana Del Rio, national manager of DNV GL-Business Assurance, FRS has implemented the measures recommended by the protocol. These include social distancing, temperature control, strengthening of cleaning and disinfection operations in all areas, installation of hydroalcoholic gel distribution terminals, traffic plans, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) stocks, staff training and awareness, information monitoring and news, etc.
"The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitalization process. We were already working on this, but the current circumstances have generated demands requiring immediate action," said Mr. Moriana, who announces that FRS customers can now buy tickets online and access the ship directly with their boarding pass.
