From Marrakech, Jean-Marc Morandini breaks the silence
From Morocco, former host Jean-Marc Morandini broke his silence on Instagram. Convicted by the courts and ousted from CNews, he nevertheless acknowledges that he misses television.
The 60-year-old former presenter is multiplying travel photos, appearing in turn in Amsterdam and Marrakech. While he seems to be enjoying his newfound freedom after his forced withdrawal from the airwaves, the media personality does not hide a certain regret about his career. "It’s off to new adventures, even though I miss the airwaves," he wrote to his subscribers.
This globetrotter lifestyle comes as the journalist has been definitively convicted of corruption of minors to a two-year suspended prison sentence. He also received an 18-month suspended prison sentence for sexual harassment. Despite these court decisions, no control seems to be restricting his international travels for the time being.
His journey is not, however, exempt from controversy. A visit to the Red Light District in Amsterdam provoked a strong reaction from a Parisien journalist on social media. Faithful to his offensive style, the former face of CNews retaliated against the "miserable innuendos" of his colleague: "Yes, I’m living my best life... and fuck you."
While the news channel has already named his replacements, the presenter continues to document his stay in Morocco. Between the hatred and frustration denounced by the person concerned, this media comeback via social networks underlines the difficulty for the former pillar of the French audiovisual landscape to completely cut the link with his audience.
