French Tourist Faces Appeal in Morocco Sheep Massacre Case

The French national who had massacred a flock of sheep and made threats against the young shepherd at the David beach near Mohammedia will appear on appeal, Wednesday, September 9, in Casablanca.
The court of first instance in Benslimane had sentenced the defendant to one month in prison, a fine of 500 dirhams, in addition to the payment of compensation of 20,000 dirhams to the owner of the livestock. The latter, who had expressed his dissatisfaction after the verdict, had appealed.
"I have presented all the documents confirming the extent of the damage caused by the French resident to my flock of sheep," he declared, adding that the financial compensation provided would not be enough to buy another flock of sheep.
Frenchman Michel S. had savagely massacred, on May 2, a flock of sheep with his car, before threatening the young shepherd with the same fate. He blamed them for being on his land.
